As always, our team at WLS Afterlife always carefully selects every ingredient we incorporate into our bariatric-friendly meals. What makes this tuna grape salad unique from others is the nutritional value it holds. Our tuna grape salad holds a high protein count and is very much the opposite of an empty filler food.
If you’re hesitant about diving into bariatric-friendly seafood recipes, starting with Safe Catch Tuna is the best way to start. Safe Catch is a trusted brand we’ve come to love here at WLS Afterlife. What makes Safe Catch so unique is the testing process their tuna goes through. In fact, their mercury limit is more strict than the FDA. Best of all their tuna holds no additional additives or fillers.
With that said, one can of Safe Catch Tuna holds about 24 grams of protein. As a bariatric patient, you’ve heard your doctor explain the importance of reaching your daily recommended protein count. With this recipe, whether you’re enjoying it for lunch or dinner, it’ll feel great knowing you’re consuming a decent amount of protein. You can even add more protein by substituting a greek yogurt for the lite mayo. Consuming a high-protein-packed meal can not only help you feel fuller longer but can also help fuel your body before or after a workout.
After recreating this recipe a few times for our team, we learned that a freshly squeezed lemon adds the perfect finishing touch to this recipe. Enjoy our tuna grape salad by itself, or if you’re looking to give yourself even more protein you can place it on a bed of power greens such as spinach.
WLS Afterlife is dedicated to presenting new bariatric-friendly meals weekly so you can continue to enjoy the life you’ve worked so hard to enjoy! If you try any of our bariatric-friendly meals, be sure to tag us on social media!
Please note that we always recommend our WLS Afterlife viewers follow their doctor’s dietary guidelines, regardless of our recipe instructions. If we listed an ingredient you were told to avoid, write to us so we may provide you with plenty of other tasty alternatives.
