Some days it’s hard to reach your protein goals after weight loss surgery. The team at WLS Afterlife is always looking for ways to help you get your protein in that don’t feel like a chore, or let’s be honest, don’t taste like crap. In our day-to-day experience as bariatric patients, we have known about Premier Protein for years, so we decided to compare 3 of their protein drink flavors and let you know our thoughts.
First, let’s talk about the 20g of protein in the 16 oz bottle. Drinking just 1 bottle a day will get you well on your way to your daily protein intake goal. The single serving bottle also contains only 90 calories, so it’s a great way to keep your calorie count low and still get a good source of energy. There is only 1g of carbs! Seriously, just 1 gram.
The protein is a whey protein isolate. A whey isolate undergoes more processing, which results in higher protein content with fewer carbs and less lactose and fat than a whey concentrate.
I don’t want to spoil it and tell you which one was our favorite. You really need to watch the video above to see which flavor got our vote for the best. There was a clear winner, but that doesn’t mean we won’t be keeping all 3 flavors on the office shopping list. You should try all 3, we don’t think you will be disappointed.
