We know you may either be struggling ahead of this diet phase, or during this phase. So many people hate this part of the weight loss surgery journey. Private online groups are full of people asking if it is really necessary to be on a liquid diet after weight loss surgery. Here is the best way we can explain it. If you had a 6-8 inch line of stitches on your thigh or arm, would you listen to your doctor on how to help it heal correctly?
Depending on the type of weight loss surgery, you have a pretty large staple line or set of sutures on your stomach. You can’t see them, but they are there. The liquid diet is there to help that area heal. Cheating by starting another phase, is not a good choice. You could do some serious damage and end up with issues, much worse than being tired of liquids.
Ok, Back to the good stuff! This is a tasty treat that you will want to keep, even after you graduate to a different part of your diet after weight loss surgery.
We wanted to play around with flavors and since we have all kinds of extracts and flavorings in our kitchen, this one sounded intriguing. It did not disappoint!
We are hoping that this recipe will help with just enough of a flavor and texture change that it can help this stage be a little easier to deal with. If you haven’t bought unflavored protein powder yet, you need to add this to you shopping list. We get ours on Amazon. You can find our favorites on our Amazon Storefront.
