Italian Bake| Super Easy Bariatric Recipe

If you like the ricotta bake, you will like this Italian Bake as well.

The ricotta bake is a very easy and tasty bariatric recipe, but let’s face it, no one wants to eat the same recipe every day. Check out our noodle-free Italian Bake, which has a pureed option as well.

This is one tasty dish! If you have seen any of our other recipes using cottage cheese, you may remember that one of us (me) is not a huge fan of the texture. We have created some really tasty recipes using blended cottage cheese. Since this recipe has the same flavor profile as a lasagna, we left the cottage cheese alone (except when we made the pureed version) and I must say, I was pleasantly surprised.

The cottage cheese fit in great with the turkey and onions. I will be taking the (very few) leftovers and making my lunch today!

This italian bake was super easy to prepare, quick to make and the clean up was a snap. Some of our favorite things with bariatric cooking. If you are doing your bariatric meal prep for the week, you could go ahead and cook some extra turkey to use in another recipe.

You can see from the pictures above that there are not many ingredients in our Italian Bake recipe. We wanted to keep it simple. Now, you may want to add some additional seasonings. We keep quite a few italian seasonings in our kitchen, so we spiced ours up a little bit. Try adding fresh minced garlic if you want to really add some flavor.

Depending on where you are in your weight loss surgery journey, you may need to puree this. You can see on the video that we show it both ways. Also, don’t forget about watching your portion sizes. It’s a very easy way to stay on top of things.
