I think one of the hardest parts of weight loss surgery is the diet right before and right after surgery. Many bariatric surgeons and their care teams give you a diet plan that includes “full liquids”. While it’s more filling that they “clear liquids” stage, it can be rather boring, to say the least.

We are hoping that this recipe will help with just enough of a flavor and texture change that it can help this stage be a little easier to deal with. If you haven’t bought unflavored protein powder yet, you need to add this to you shopping list. We get ours on Amazon. You can find our favorites on our Amazon Storefront.

Cinnamon Toast Protein Popsicles, bariatric recipe,

There are so many recipe options that work great with unflavored protein powder. For the Vanilla pudding mix, make sure that you are buying the Sugar Free Pudding or Simply Delish. Regular Puddlings will have too much sugar and you do not want to risk dumping syndrome.

This recipe is a great variation for people in the full liquid diet phase before or after gastric sleeve, gastric bypass, or other types of weight loss surgeries. It’s also a cool treat after you are back on a regular diet after surgery. Your doctor should be giving you a daily protein intake goal and many weight loss surgery patients continue to use protein supplements to help them reach that goal.
