My Bariatric Solutions
Our program offers patients a weight loss surgery program that caters to their specific needs. The team of specialists include a Medical Director, board certified surgeons, nurse practitioners, bariatric nurse coordinator, registered dietitians, exercise physiologists, & other team members who provide each patient with expert care before and after weight loss surgery. Many of our employees have had bariatric surgery themselves, so they understand the unique needs of the patients.
Wise Health System’s experienced surgeons are well-versed in both laparoscopic (minimally-invasive) & open surgeries. We perform the latest, most-advanced bariatric surgical & non-surgical procedures, including Lap-Band®, Gastric Sleeve, Gastric Balloon, Roux-en-Y gastric bypass and Revision Bariatric Surgeries (such as Gastric Sleeve to Gastric Bypass or band to sleeve). We also offer take over care for patients who have had surgery with other providers & are no longer under their care.
Located within an hour of DFW airport, we have patients across the United States who have flown in for our services.
Our Physicians
Heath Smith, MD, FACS, FASMBS
Dr. Smith attended Texas A&M University at College Station where he completed his undergraduate degree & medical school. He earned his Doctor of Medicine in 2009 and completed his residency at Virginia Tech/ Carilion Clinic in Roanoke, Virginia.
Dr. Smith is a Fellow of the American Society of Metabolic and Bariatric Surgeons and is also a Fellow, of the American College of Surgeons.
Arsalla Islam, MD, FACS, FASMBS
Dr. Arsalla is a board-certified surgeon who brings more than ten years of surgical experience with her from two nationally recognized academic programs: Wake Forest University Baptist Medical Center & UT Southwestern Medical Center.
She is a Fellow of the American Society of Metabolic and Bariatric Surgeons and is also a Fellow, of the American College of Surgeons.
