Garlic Shrimp Recipe

This garlic shrimp dish packs some great flavor.  It’s high in protein and also very easy to prepare.  If you are needing a new recipe to change up your meals after weight loss surgery, then you have to try our garlic shrimp, 1 skillet recipe.  If you are cooking for you family, don’t worry, they won’t realize that anything is missing from this recipe, so it’s a great family friendly recipe too. The prep time was short and with only one cooking pan, the clean up was a snap!

We decided to plate ours over zoodles, but there are plenty of other sides that are also bariatric friendly  that work well with shrimp. Considering the size of this recipe, you can make quite a few different meals for the week or you can cut down the ingredients to keep your portions where they are supposed to be after surgery.

¼ cup Olive Oil

1 lb fresh sliced mushrooms

1 cup chopped onions

¼ cup chopped fresh parsley

½ cup chicken broth

2 lbs shrimp, peeled and deveined (we used fresh, but frozen & thawed works too)

½ tsp salt

¼ tsp pepper

2 tsp minced fresh garlic


Heat the olive oil in a large skillet over medium-high heat

Add in the mushrooms and onions, cook until tender

Add parsley and chicken broth stir until well coated

Add shrimp cooking until they turn pink.

Add in your salt, garlic and pepper.

Cook for another minute
