Realizing many of your favorite desserts aren’t in your post-op bariatric surgery diet can be a hard pill to swallow- especially if you have a sweet tooth. 🍫🦷
This bariatric friendly recipe for low-carb avocado brownies is PERFECT for when you want a taste of a sweet treat, but on a post weight loss surgery diet.
We all know what you may be thinking, “avocados in brownies?!” Trust us with this one! The avocados in this weight loss surgery recipe allow the brownies to have the same consistency as a non-bariatric brownie recipe! Healthy desserts never sounded better.
This bariatric recipe has the same texture, similar flavor, and chocolate taste as most brownies. What makes this recipe even better is it’s low-carb and sugar-free!
We’ve found that using resources like Amazon make it easy to find bariatric-friendly substitutes for sugar- or other ingredients that may not be in your post-op regimen. For this avocado brownies recipe, we used Swerve confectioners sugar (sugar substitute) and Lily’s dark chocolate chips (sugar free chocolate chips).
